…located in the heart of the DFW area

Hurst is the westernmost branch of the HEB cities (Hurst, Euless, and Bedford) which are known as “mid-cities” for their location between Dallas and Fort Worth (with us so far?). The town was put on the map when the Bell Helicopter plant established itself here. Not long after, the existence of DFW Airport gave the economy a boost with jobs, jobs, jobs.

Yet not everything is aviation-related in Hurst. You’ll find really nice homes and apartments here, best suited for middle- and upper-middle class residents who want to live in a conveniently-situated suburb with one of the best school systems in the country, and the high-tech Trinity Railway Express, which makes travel easy.

For older kids and adults, the northeast campus of the Tarrant County Community College is nearby. And for days when you need retail instead of education? The North East Mall has over 140 different ways to keep your feet, mind and wallet active.

Of course being so close to the centers of Fort Worth and Dallas, you can fly downtown in minutes…even without a plane.

Barnett Shale...Cha Ching! But Now What

Barnett Shale may be the largest onshore natural gas field in the United States. While proven to have 2.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, it could contain as much as 30 trillion cubic feet! Not until the technological advancement of horizontal drilling though was Barnett Shale able to become a major producer of natural gas. Horizontal drilling allows companies to drill horizontally – this is key because DFW basically sits on top of Barnett Shale. Now drillers can retrieve natural gas that lies beneath neighborhoods. Cha ching!
