…stroll through town—but don’t forget the music

Greenville is cool.

It’s a trek from Dallas—about 50 miles or so—but the music scene rocks. The Greenville Entertainment Series features tons of different musical genres, and the Symphony Festival Series highlights the Dallas Symphony Orchestra four times each year. Other than that, you’ve got hot clubs and chill music venues to go to. Considering Hunt County used to be the cotton capital of the world (yawn), Greenville’s nightlife has really picked up.

Economically speaking, the caffeine in Greenville’s coffee is L3 Communications Integrated Systems, a major U.S. defense contractor located at Majors Airport.

But there are still relics from slower days—this town is internationally known for saddle-making. And, the national U.S. historic Main Street Project started right here, so there’s an interesting mixture of 1950s-style storefronts, ornate buildings and turn-of-the-century gingerbread decoration, along with the stately Hunt County Courthouse. For living options, check out the single-family and brick homes, apartments and duplexes.

Texas ain’t what it used to be, and Greenville proves it.
