…can you spell B-O-O-M?

With a population exploding from 6,000 in 1990 to a projected 110,000 in 2010, it shouldn’t be surprising that Frisco has been named one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S.

Situated in a rural setting north of Dallas, Frisco has done a great job of balancing its wild growth with a strong offering of community-oriented options, especially in athletics. Along with the recent arrival of the MLS FC Dallas team (and their new stadium Pizza Hut Park), Frisco is home to a minor league baseball team, the Superdrome, the Natatorium, and soon, an Arena football team.

For the residents filling up the mix of old and new homes (and the sports stadiums!), Frisco also offers local events and venues like the annual Storytelling Festival, a new city hall and the Frisco Central Park. All kinds of goodies are in the hopper, thanks to the city’s open-armed approach to new business.

Though it may be a bit far from Dallas (the completion of the Dallas North Tollway from Highway 121 and additional highway extensions in the works will bring the city ever closer), the economic growth here in the past 15 years shows that most folks don’t mind a little drive in exchange for quality of life.
