Denton

Send to a friend

…a growing center all its own

To the residents of Denton, the reason why their town has earned the nickname “the creative and intellectual capital of North Texas” is a no-brainer: it's home to University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, tons of big business HQs like Sally Beauty Company, Jostens (you remember—the class ring company) and Peterbilt Motors. There’s always something interesting happening here.

Though it is a trek from downtown—about 40 miles—Denton is a city all its own. It’s one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country and Money magazine named it one of the “Top 100 Best Places to Live in America” in 2006. And Denton apartments are plentiful, to accommodate some of that growth and "best-ness."

You can easily spend a weekend browsing the new shops at the Golden Triangle Mall or Denton Crossing, splash around the slides and pools at the brand-new waterpark (definitely the best way to cool off after sitting in traffic), or you can head downtown for one of this proud neighborhood’s annual festivals like the “Arts, Antiques and Autos Extravaganza.”

Intellectual, creative—and definitely fun.
