Fireside Pies is an cozy neighborhood joint serving tasty pizza made from high quality ingredients in traditional wood fire ovens.
I usually go to the location on Henderson and Willis in the Knox-Henderson/East Dallas neighborhood. That location is open until midnight daily, so it makes an excellent late night food option. (Fireside Pies has three other locations in DFW).
You can enjoy your pie in cozy booths (my fave), at the bar or on the patio. I can never pass up a tomato and mozzarella salad - so I like to share the Warm T/M/P ($12) - the P stands for portobello mushrooms, which is an interesting twist. I also usually order the Light n' Crispy ($13) pizza, which is fresh mozzarella, chopped tomatoes, basil and olive oil and add Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Hand Torn Basil and add Italian Sausage and olives ($2 each). Jimmy's Spicy Italian Sausage pizza with Scamorza & Roasted Red Onions is very popular among my friends. And, of course I have a glass of Pinot Noir. I have never had desert here (always stuffed after the pizza) but the fruit pies look delish.
I suggest going early or late, but not in between. It gets pretty busy between 7 and 9 pm. I hate waiting to eat, and at the end of the day, it is just pizza. Eat a late lunch and then do the late night thing I like I do.
