While America Relocate may not be at the forefront of magazine stands, it did name Carrollton as one of the top 100 places to live in the U.S., and we think they have a point.

Soon to be celebrating its 150th anniversary, Carrollton’s got the goods a little ol’ town should—an Old Downtown district full of quaint shops and charming Sandy Lake Amusement Park, neighborhoods with a range of homes both old and new, and the feeling that it’s a distinct town, rather than another Dallas suburb. Carrollton apartments are strewn throughout this town, so finding the right place for you should be easy.

With its healthy business environment, convenient location to a handful of freeways, titles of “Tree City USA” and “Texas’s Safest City”, and an impressive amount of park land (one of the highest per capita in the Metroplex), it is no surprise that Carrollton’s population has grown exponentially over the past 50 years.

No doubt more people will head up to Carrollton with the completion of the DART light rail service in 2010. Carrollton’s a great little area with an easy-going culture, where you can avoid the trappings of both the “big” city and the “faceless” suburbs.
