…peaceful & quiet (and the mall’s not far)

If you’re one of those people who never understood why people move to the suburbs, we’d like to introduce you to Candleridge and its neighbor Wedgewood.

Located southwest of Fort Worth, Wedgewood is best known as the home of Hulen Mall. The mall is essentially the downtown, and spreading out from there are tree-lined streets (many whose names begin with “W”) with large lawns and many ranch-style homes with attached garages. Wedgewood’s LeBlanc Park has the required tennis courts, soccer field and basketball court.

The master-planned community of Candleridge is considered the more upscale of the ‘hoods here, with its larger custom-built homes and impressive landscaping. One hundred-acre Candleridge Park, the largest in the Fort Worth area, contains miles of hiking and biking trails, all leading to picturesque French Lake, with its shade trees, picnic pavilion and water birds. Thanks to the lake’s walkways, the area has gained a reputation as the rollerblading center of Fort Worth.

It’s a quiet, easy place to raise a family, far—but not too far—from the chaos of the city. Now do you get the appeal of the ‘burbs?
