…quaint suburb with a strong spirit

Bedford is the “B” in the HEB Community (located about 20 minutes from both D and FW), but it's a place that definitely gets an “A” for effort and determination.

A cool piece of history: back in 1860, when the city was first beginning to emerge, residents established a log building for children’s schooling—yet by 1893, the Civil War and two fires forced citizens to raise funds for an entirely new structure and eventually merge with the Hurst-Euless School District in 1958. Now, this tri-community system is among the top 10 percent of school districts nationwide.

So, though it may look quaint from the outside, Bedford is a town with a hard-core spirit. The houses are mostly middle- and upper-middle class single-family homes, although Bedford apartments and condos have plenty of traffic here as well.

A few outstanding features here are the 24,000-sq.-ft. Boys Ranch Activity Center (not actually just for boys), The Twilight Thursday Concert Series (not always at twilight) and Murder Mystery Dinner and Show (yes, a real dinner and show).
