…enough culture to fill a ten-gallon hat

How does a Dallas suburb distinguish itself? Addison does it by featuring more restaurants than you can shake a french fry at.

Sometimes, it seems this is a town built on food. With more than 170 restaurants (reportedly more per capita than any other city west of the Mississippi), Addison has grown into a hub for dining and nightlife. The evidence? During the city’s unique rush hour times of noon to 2pm and 6 to 9pm, the population swells from 14,000 to 100,000!

If it’s culture you seek, Addison offers the WaterTower Theatre company, the annual Out of the Loop festival hosting theatre, dance, music, and art events, the July 4th KaboomTown extravaganza, along with a slew of other festivals such as Addison Artfest, Oktoberfest, and Taste Addison.

Addison is also home to the headquarters for corporate giants CompUSA, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Pizza Hut, attracted by the low property tax rate, a bustling airport and 22 hotels.

Add in a beautification movement that has led to the creation of eight new parks and some impressively manicured housing developments, and you can see why we call Addison a quality cultural center in the shadows of Dallas.
