If you're earning your wings in Colorado, chances are, you're in Northgate. Home to the United States Air Force Academy base, Northgate also offers the basics of any community—services, shops, local eateries—but the real draw is the school, where it's not uncommon to see trainees zoom through the clouds almost daily. The campus has some of the area's most impressive architecture and most strenuous nature trails.

Living in Northgate, you gotta know the lingo. Both zoomies and undergrads refer to the United States Air Force Academy as The Academy, The Hill, The Zoo or Wild Blue U.
