Bubbling up between the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak lies a progressive arts community named after the Native American word for "spirit." Regarded by its first inhabitants as sacred ground, Manitou Springs grew to be something of a destination spa in the 1800s.

Now, this town of independents honors its history of healing and well-being with a devotion to art, social responsibility and an easygoing spirit. It may have something to do with the nine natural mineral springs that flow throughout the city. If we could listen to a babbling brook all day, we'd be pretty easygoing too… says a lot for your little desk fountain, doesn't it?
