…being smart about where you live

As you might guess, this ‘hood is located next door to UIC, or the University of Illinois – Chicago and, though it used to be a little sketch, developers have been working to create a pleasant, livable community with lots of amenities for professors, students and young professionals. Located just outside the Loop, it’s totally convenient to the el, downtown, the lakeshore and beyond.

In recent years, the area has seen new condos and apartment buildings, new businesses, greening projects and strips of shops and restaurants, so it still feels brand-spanking new. That also means gutted rehabs, never-lived in spaces and modern amenities (and who doesn’t like a Jacuzzi tub?)—all at a moderate price. Plus you’ll get a community feel, cool city views and the street cred that comes with hangin’ downtown. You don’t need a PhD to figure out that living here might be good for you.
