...art, architecture and sky-high living

River North has some of the coolest-looking stuff in all of Chicago.

From endless art galleries and showrooms to historic and famous architecture, everywhere you turn is a feast for the eyes, thanks to artists, writers and other right-brain types who moved into warehouses and abandoned lofts after the post-WWII manufacturing slump.

Of course, the abandoned buildings wouldn’t last forever. In such close proximity to the Loop, conveniently located near the lake, the river and along the el tracks, the 1970s saw River North becoming a highly desirable living area. Today, the neighborhood lays claim to some of Chicago’s most photographed and visited sites: the Wrigley Building, with its glimmering-white, terra cotta façade and two-story clock, the “Mag Mile” in all its designer glory, plus restaurants, bars and nightlife venues like the House of Blues, numerous steakhouses and the ubiquitous Irish pubs.

You won’t find single-family homes here, but living on the 20th floor just off Michigan Avenue ain’t bad. With the city and lakeshore as your backyard, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.
