You’ll hear the term “Ravenswood” all over the place in Chicago; the Brown Line is also called the Raveswood Line, there’s a Ravenswood Avenue, there are businesses with the name “Ravenswood” in it, etc, etc. It’s a term that’s used loosely, but at the moment, we’re talking about the pleasant, residential neighborhood.

Here, you’ll find a mix of courtyard and multi-unit buildings, as well as three-flats, bungalows, Victorian style homes and a fair amount of new construction. People are drawn to the convenience—the Damen Avenue Brown Line el stop and Ravenswood (there it is again) Metra stop are both within walking distance, and there’s no shortage of retail or great restaurants and bars, though most commercial space is conveniently confined to main drags like Damen, Foster, Lincoln and Lawrence.
