…where the good guys hang their hats
If you feel a little safer walking through Norwood Park, you could attribute it to the numerous parks, the spacious housing lots or the much gawked-at Victorian architecture in the Circle. Actually, it’s because this community is home to a large population of Chicago police officers and firefighters.

As you might imagine, residents here go out of their way to make the area a peaceful one, with well-kept, single-family homes and condos, frequent, community-scheduled block parties and thriving, locally owned businesses. There’s also a very active park district and great schools. The area is so pleasant, in fact, that we’re wondering if anything slightly irritating is a ticketable offense.

(Just kidding, officers. Really.)
