...inventing great food and summer fun

At the very top of Chicago’s northwest side lies a community known for its acclaimed restaurant row.

Five miles from the Loop, easily accessible by the CTA, Metra or by car (via the Kennedy or local streets), Edison Park draws people from all over the city, if only for a taste of authentic Italian and Irish food and other cuisines.

Outside of its strip of dee-lish restaurants, though, Edison Park is a quaint, unassuming neighborhood. Sure, it was one of the first areas to start using electric streetlamps (yes, it is named after that Edison), but these residents don’t like to brag. They’re content with their reasonably-priced bungalows and condos, their close proximity to O’Hare Airport and a strong community vibe.

Keep on the lookout for the Edison Park Fest at the end of the summer, when everyone comes out for three days of near-nonstop celebration of the ‘hood’s food, fun and local merchants.

With live music, a dog show and bingo, you might think Edison Park invented outdoor summer fun.
