…a shopper’s paradise
Ask any Chicagoan above the age of 25 about the old Brickyard Mall shopping center radio jingle, and they’ll immediately smile and sing a few bars (“Come and follow the road, to the Brickyard, do do do do do, the Brickyard, your shopping center the Brickyard”). It took days to chase out of your head.

Of course, there’s more to Belmont Central than the Brickyard, which, now boasting a Target, Lowe’s and smaller stores like Footlocker and Avenue, has undergone a major renovation since its jingle days. Because the chamber of commerce is so active in ensuring a thriving local economy, tons of independently owned businesses line the streets, all located a couple miles from the Belmont Blue Line stop.

If you’re buying in this ethnically diverse, middle class 'hood, it's a good place to get alot for a reasonable price. Styles include Queen Anne (Victorian and asymmetrical, with pointy roofs) and classic Chicago bungalows. For smaller footprints, check out the apartments, condos and lofts.

Warning: once you move in, you'll want to stay. People tend to hang around for a while. In fact if you listen closely, you can probably hear some of the "old-timers" still humming that Brickyard jingle.
