Grant Park has some wild neighbors.

Located right near Zoo Atlanta (along with Turner Field and the Capitol building), this ’hood has lions and tigers and bears. Plus loads of green space, tons of swank restaurants and bars, and, oh, a famous cemetery, too.

While you may not want to take up residence at Oakland Cemetery with the likes of Margaret Mitchell just yet, there are plenty of Grant Park apartments, condos (one of this area’s hottest commodities) and single-family homes, where you can rest your head.

Grant Park, for which this neighborhood is named, contains 131 acres of beautiful landscaping and space for tons of recreational activities, as well as the residences surrounding the green. There are a few commercial buildings in Grant Park’s historic district, much of which is also on the National Register of Historic Places.

But for many, life in Grant Park is about the outdoors, whether it’s the park itself or among the animals. Just don’t anger those goats at the petting zoo. They bite.
