…where everyone’s from somewhere else

Do you yearn for a salt duck egg? Chamblee is a prime example of progressive urban planning—a diverse immigrant population, a central MARTA transit station for easy downtown access and even a market (Ranch 99) where you can find that salted duck egg.

Chamblee is considered an urban village where new developments outline the Antique Row shopping area near the MARTA stop, including warehouses that have been converted to apartments, lofts and brick condos. Other parts of Chamblee feature petite vintage homes.

Multicultural influences are ever-present as well. Languages other than English can not only be heard, but also read on signage throughout Chamblee. Pawn shops, nail salons and ethnic groceries make up parts of each block in this diverse neighborhood. The area is also home to the International Farmers Market, which attracts hungry patrons of all nationalities looking for that special ingredient.

Housing is still relatively inexpensive in this commuter jewel, where old meets new and foreign meets domestic.
